Late September brought you into my life along with tendrils of early cold. You easily caught me in the web of your southern charm and held me there until snow deeply covered the New England hills. How were we to know that our short-lived romance was to be interrupted, nay silenced, by sorrow and your family's need of you? I hear the clock in the square chime the hour, ever onward. My regret remains eternal.
