I remember how your voice and face lit up with that twinkle in your eyes.
Something had made you happy! Your unique childlike enjoyment made us smile.
On this bitterly cold January day, staring out the window at the dreary landscape shivering.
As that frigid wind blows the leafless birch tree branches relentlessly,
near our frozen lake.
I can't help but think how the world seems a little darker and gloomier!
Now that your light has gone.
"I love you" the last words you said to me. How could I have known?
They were the very last, I would ever hear you say.
Until we meet again in heavens bright new dawn.
