This year my resolution is
A monumental chore –
My friends say I am negative
Which is, indeed a bore.
Well, all I do is write all day—
Though fun, I must admit—
But I don’t move and I get stiff
And stuck to where I sit.
They say I need to exercise.
Gee, I can hardly wait;
With osteo arthritis
It should be a piece of cake.
My muscles have all gone on strike,
Now I can hardly move,
But I will try to exercise
And get back “in the groove.”
It should make me more positive,
More fun to be around;
I just might get a full night’s sleep
How novel if it's sound!
I heard about a you-tube where
The “Silver Sneakers” are
I think I can do what they do
If they don’t go too far.
Now it will take a while, for I’m
A senior, after all;
But this one's easy; I can lift
My leg against the wall.
And with my new-found energy
And blood cells running free,
I’ll write my true life story:
A romantic comedy.

this is partially true - my friends said I was grumpy and needed to exercise to loosen up. I found the Silver Sneakers site, but haven't tried it yet. (ah well)
