a fun poem
The Black Cat Sings
by mermaids
|
|
|
She wants to be on stage
a voice so unique
the audience faints
is it a howl?
or a growl?
A pretty, fluffy kitty
she rarely meows
purrfurring to belt
out notes on a far
distant horizon
She is Hollywood bound
but this Halloween night
the pumpkins run
in fear of her sound
skeletons lose bones
as their bodies
disintegrate,
bats fly away
their echoes
disrupted
But the lovely
feline pursists
in her dream
next Halloween she will
sing again
maybe if she is
in tune
an agent
will sign her,
fame awaiting
she can only hope

Author Notes
Just a silly Halloween poem about a cat who thinks she can sing. I have misspelled purrfurring and purrsists on purpose.
