There was once a shy girl that lived in the small African village of Sangita Her family feared that she would never get married because she was so shy.
The healthier, prettier girls were quickly married off to the local men. It was the custom of this village for the groom to pay a dowry of two cows to the bride's family.

One day Samuel met Salma at the water well and they fell in love.
He knew that she was happy to marry him though she was worried that she was not worthy and never really looked into his eyes, but he had a plan.

He went to her family's home and asked for her hand in marriage. Then he gave her family a ten cow dowry for Salma and brought her home to his village.

People heard the story of this valuable woman and would come from miles around to see this ten cow bride.
Almost overnight, Selma began to hold her head just a little higher and treated Samuel like a king. She always dressed herself well and greeted the locals with a regal smile.
And the moral of the story is, if you treat someone like they are precious and valuable, they will believe it.
