The life of an elephant
peaceful and free
except for the poachers
on a killing spree.
Herds disappearing,
man won't let them be,
killing them daily,
for their ivory.
For them to survive
we must come to the fore,
the famous Big Five,
will become the Big Four.

Author Notes
The elephant herds of Tanzania have been almost halved in only the past five years due to the relentless greed for ivory. A ruthless and cruel massacre on these gentle beasts that share the earth with us must be stopped, before they become extinct. The big five refers to the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and cape buffalo.
