When my Cindy was little I felt such high hope
That she wanted to be a dentist or a lawyer
But my little Cindy just smiled and said, “Nope.”
~
I said, “Maybe you could be a teacher just like me?”
But my little darling only shook her head
And said, “No, that’s not what I want to be.”
~
I told her, “I’ll love you, whatever you choose
Just remember this
Choose what you love and you’ll never lose.”
~
Then she had a school project to pick a career
And I clapped and I cheered
At last I would know what Cindy held dear
~
Words can’t describe what my precious created
I remember yelling and screaming
Until they held me down and had me sedated
~
I still get shivers recalling the joy in her eyes
And even more shocking
Was when my little comedian… won first prize

Author Notes
I just thought, we have enough sadness and despair. How about the emotion of joy and laughter. Sometimes we are just too serious.
