The blueblood king bleeds red into the ground
and loaves of bread fed to the dead are found,
unnourishing and flourishing askew.
But blue in ev’ry shade brings life anew.
Forlorn! With scorn the peasants smugly wail;
the blessed cross into the Earth impale.
The truth smiles shades of blue, when blue rings true;
but Mother Nature’s red, she’s just a shrew.
To do, oh what to do? Oh, what to do?
Put brush to canvas, paint in shades of blue.
Put blood to reason, paint in shades of blue.
Pour love ‘cross canyons, paint in shades of blue.
The dirge rings out a funeral tune on cue.
For life is love and loving’s shaded blue….
