I know dark days have come to earth
And faith has been profaned.
Help me, Lord, to never shirk
The holiness of Your name.
As I follow You, please help me find
A sacred, selfless, holy way
That lends itself to righteous light
That I would never go astray.
Help me be a student apart,
Giving testament to dying souls,
Of a Master who changes hearts,
Seeing what no one else could know.
Help me remember the life you gave
And all the callous, taunting names
The angry crowds did naught to stave.
Later, the blood of countless Saints
Grew the Church we know today.
By spreading the gospel of peace to all,
I learned to search and find my way
To Jesus, who heard when my heart called.
I trust in Christ, the Truth and Light.
He loved me, thus endured the cross.
Restoring my life and spiritual sight
He prevented in me His depth of loss.
If I should be forced to keep my life
And deny Your Holy name,
Stand with me in strength and might
That I die without guilt or shame.
