LOVE UNSEIZED
I was the classic
damsel in distress
Okay, more like the twit
under duress
Useless
You-less
Then in you strode
Rescued me with finesse
Lightened my load
and showed genuine caress
Your dazzle just hit
I blushed, bit my lip
You unlocked my heart
and that was it
in a flood...
a pulsating rush
all at once
you'd become
My Insatiable Crush
A Knight, at great height
in your manly armour
My stud and quite the charmer
Oh boy, you were some
damn fine karma
We were fleeting, brief
You were my every drama
My grief
So hot for your greeting
Sans all relief
In you I could wallow
Smother like no other
But along came the thief
and just like an unfinished Pepsi
you left me
for another
You got on your new bike
Rode that mother
You'd come and gone
time moved on
I plotted
I was forgotten
I may as well have rotted
Ah, but then...when
into new arms I'd slotted
You returned with an urgency
and quite besotted
Back for your Pepsi
right where you presumed
you'd left me
I learned you burned
Of course I turned
the other way.
Looking back, that was the day.
The pivotal moment
when I was so meant
to embrace your chase
but
quite simply didn't
No really
in retrospect what did I expect?
It was right there
There in my bloody lap
As I reflect
now its just a stupid
dumb-arse face slap
Full of the proud fool I was
I conveyed
nothing could remain
I shunned Cupid
and let stupid reign
Of course my chance
of any remote circumstance
slipped by yet again
With that one decision
a painful incision
I've lived unappeased
endurably
incurably diseased
and curse
this irreversable truth
of squandered youth
and missed opportunities
and of perhaps
that one true love
left wanting and unseized...

Author Notes
Not much doin' here. LOL
Yeah, yeah I know the "Knight" thing has been flogged to death. Too bad.
Thanks for reading...
