I love spring except for the pollen
It's here, it's there, it's everywhere
My head is spinning, my throat is swollen
This yellow powder is in my hair.
I love spring except for the sneezing
Coughing, wheezing, red eyes burning
Nose that's dripping, it's not pleasing
To my netty pot I'm turning.
I love spring except for the showers
I feel depressed and oh so blue
Though the showers bring the flowers
I wish spring would say adieu.

Writing Prompt |
Write a poem about how spring affects you. It can be humorous, inspirational, romantic - whatever you feel as springtime returns. |
Author Notes
I really do love spring when the earth comes back to life but my husband suffers from allergies. He is miserable until the pollen season is over and we move into summer. Anyone married to an allergy sufferer knows, when they are miserable, you are too.
