Alan had always considered himself an optimist. Even after accidentally falling from the roof of the fifty-five story office building, he still had a sense of hope and possibility. Good could well come from this likely serendipitous event. Approaching the pavement he couldn't help thinking that he had dropped fifty-four stories and was still okay. Recognized Author Notes Optimists wade through five-foot-deep horse manure piles looking for a pony. This is based on a joke I remember from my youth.
