Adhering to the eyes and mind,
Indicative, a colored wall,
No strictures, structure undefined.
The teasing, taunting phrases call
In tints and hues of unrefined
Non sequiturs that cast a thrall.
Gestalt achieved, the pieces bind.
With metered paintbrush, words can wed
Inviting rhymes, the bard combines--
Taut tapestries , life-colored thread,
Harmonics--drawn within the lines.
When poetry's full palette whirls
Out imagery, harsh consonance,
Rich simile, words strung like pearls,
Deep metaphor and assonance;
Sketched carefully, a scene unfurls.
