as our freedom continues to erode
jumping back to slavery
we blindly march
privileges doomed
celebrate today while we can
behind the mask
an egoist blooms
desperation causes us to follow
as in tune
into chains of folly
as with the first wild pleasure
addiction looms
the first can never be matched
continue to reach we do
satisfy that itch
tragically
we bleed in foreign lands
for a false liberty
denial runs deep
into a pit
power never satisfied
sheared layer by layer
there will be no recognition
of happy times long past
soon gone
