An imaginary Solar Rainbow
Solar Rainbows by Helvi2
No Punctuation ~ Syllable Count 8686

 There dwells within our galaxy
A place where light’s enlaced

Where ribbons crinkle in the sky

Somewhere in Outer Space

Beyond Aurora’s magic touch
The heavens blaze and burn

In omnipotent atmospheres

Of fluctuating churns

Galactic dragons rule the skies

For here they still can breathe

As fires from its blazing breath

Do not subside, but seethe

The energy dispersed will splay
Beyond our wildest dreams

As prisms burst and seem to spawn

Rich myriads of beams

In this atmospheric ocean
They’re powerful and bright

As colors touching every hue

Illuminate the site

…And then the opalescent flares
Ignite with their reply

To decorate and recreate

Incinerated sky

There is a place past starlit nights

Where hues flow into streams

Within the realms of distant space

A solar rainbow gleams

Author Notes
FS has always had imagery contests, They provide a picture and we write about it. My inspiration for this poem is a digital drawing I created, The image made me think of rainbows and northern lights. My writng is about a combination of the two. I couldn't think of a better place than the solar system to put it. This is what I perceive to be a rainbow in Outer Space.

I hope you enjoy
