Enter and exit.
Cries of life.

Sadness hangs over a dark lagoon and the river shines from a fickle moon.
The strongest swimmers make it to the end.
Some believe their life can change while dragging a rusty ball and chain.
Long is the journey for desperate men.
They try and try to fly away on the wings of a lie every day.
And say, Jesus look at me.
Every day is the same ol' thing with hope out of reach shackled with pain.
All because of a damn ol' lie.
It starts all over with a newborn face forced from the womb into the race.
The cries of life echo down the hall.
The cries of life echo down the hall.

Author Notes
My wife and I have been blessed for sometime as grandparents. We were recently promoted to great grandparents. It will be a long haul for all of them.
