King Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dream,
dream that to him was just a blur,
blur in any kind of details,
details he could not remember.
Remember, so to be revealed,
revealed to him who answer sought.
Sought to inquire of slave,
slave that which before him was brought.
Brought in Daniel to interpret,
interpret what no one else could.
Could be done by one who knew God.
God, whose purpose be understood.
Understood by this proud monarch,
monarch who would play out a part,
part in this world's great history,
history his vision did chart.
Chart symbolized by the statue,
statue representing kingdoms,
kingdoms such as was Babylon,
Babylon and three more to come.
Come in order they were to be:
be Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome.
Rome was to be the very last,
last that would rule this earthly home.
Home, which one day will be renewed;
renewed by showing of the stone,
stone cutout without human hands,
hands with which rock at feet was thrown.
Thrown at feet of iron and clay.
Clay to which iron would not cling.
Cling, though we truly need to do,
do to Jesus our savior king.

You will notice I left out the head of gold, the chest and arms of silver and the waist and hips of bronze, though I did portray them as to the empires they represent. For me to have included them would have made this poem longer than I intended. Not having been able to find a picture of this particular statue, I chose what it represents.
