The consequences of leaving God
Fallen Angels, Part II by estory

And so the dark angels fell through the fabric of heaven
Down and down into the black holes
One always finds at the center of one's universe,
A place one always imagines in one's own arrogance,
Still looking down on the downtrodden nations,
Weeping, gnashing their teeth,
Standing in the balconies of abandoned stages
In cities destroyed by revolution or war,
Making speeches to rows and rows of empty chairs,
Going on and on about how all this is unfair,
A punishment not fit for a crime
Or a pardon, a principality governed for eternity
By self love, gratification and pride.

Author Notes
This part of Fallen Angels is about the original sin, the idea that we don't need God, that we can somehow in our arrogance make our paradise on our own. Well the result can be seen all around us. Greed, corruption, war, revolution; and all this leads to loneliness and despair. Life is not about loving yourself. Life is about loving others and receiving love in return from them. Without the people around us, we are on an empty stage, like these dark angels, performing pantomimes for nobody. estory
