she swims in the sea with such grace fish gather round her it is her happy place       but from time to time her heart belongs above  magic transforms her  becoming a white dove       high above the earth she soars observing all life below she makes mental notes  so sea creatures will know       there is so much life she teaches upon return in descriptive detail one must be willing to learn       but the feeling of gliding  high above a watery world  gives her powerful insight downward she dives, knowledge unfurls Recognized Author Notes I read this poem at an open mic night at the local television station in my town. The theme was soaring so of course, a soaring mermaid arrived. I have tried repeatedly to increase the font size with no results. I do not know why the advanced editor will not work on my computer. I apologize for the small font.
