FanStory.com - Summer 1955by Willie P. Smith
Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
I'm ashamed of myself, not really.
Summer 1955 by Willie P. Smith
Summer Memories contest entry

I  threw a party in fifty-five,
Teens from the County soon arrived.
Looking back at the things we did,
It's a miracle we all survived.

One hundred teens
More or less,
The exact number
Is anyone's guess.

A fairly large creek
Ran near our farm.
The girls wanted to go swimming,
I saw no harm.

Some of the girls
Just wanted to get wet,
What happened next,
I'll never forget.

The boys all promised,
They wouldn't peek
If the girls skinny-dipped,
Down at the creek.

Some of the boys
Just couldn't stay away,
They wanted to see the girls
In full display.

The girls knew
The boys would peek,
If they skinny dipped
Down at the creek.

They all decided
Not to skinny dip,
Looked like the boys
Just wasted a trip.

Boys will be boys,
We all agree,
And I'm no exception,
I also wanted to see.

Author Notes
We were just curious young boys.

Have I put this poem in the wrong section?
