Seasons of Change
: Seasons of the Body - I by JLR

Seasons of the Body I

He twisted a knee; you clearly can see
His poor limb was bent like an old tree branch.
Save for his sore, numb bum, he was carefree,
except bright red blood was making him blanch.

Round and round, his bike wheel spun, both tires flat.
The handlebars were bent; his seat was torn.
The deep cliff's edge was too near where he sat.
For sure, a foot or two, he'd been airborne.

His buddy came back with help real quick,
and with some luck, got his bike to their truck.
The rescuer's task wasn't such an easy trick.
Put in the chopper, he felt like a schmuck.

Of course, his fun on his bike was over.
So his pals gifted him a pogo stick
and suggested he play in the clover,
because he'd be safer with a broomstick.
