He got off the bus
With no special fuss
One of the last to alight
But, when I spotted Jim
I thought "I'll have him
The sheets will get rumpled tonight"
Wide shouldered and tall
With a soft southern drawl
And a smile that rivalled the sun
He was gorgeous alright
And I thought of the night
With its hours of rapturous fun
He fell for my charms
Took me into his arms
With a kiss I'll never forget
While he slept I was weeping
My foolish heart keeping
A tryst with Love and Regret
At dawn he would leave me
Oh! how it would grieve me
To be alone all of my life
But, now my heart's song
Will continue life long
He's asked if I'd be his wife,
