I am speaking of many, but definitely not all!
Written as a humorous piece. All answers are simply Hmmph!
(At parent-teacher meetings, many distressed mothers of young teenagers were reassured to know that this was normal behaviour for their off-spring. They could look forward to a renewed close relationship - in seven years!
They frequently also needed assurance that their kids behaved well at school.
I simply encouraged the parents to just keep loving and accepting them, and be happy. All would be well.)
