Halloween is over and turkeys are dismayed,
Thanksgiving soon will follow in it's wake.
Then turkeys every which way, soon will be displayed,
on tables after they are dressed and baked.
Not much to their liking, they thought it should be banned,
this day that puts the spotlight on them all.
How about hamburgers? Or tuna that is canned?
The turkeys rose and sounded out the call.
They put their plans in action, flyers passed about,
with tempting pictures of alternatives.
Turkey's not that tasty! Their message sounded out.
On top of that, all of us want to live!
But turkey is quite tasty, that can't be denied,
the plan they had was not working at all.
As the day grew closer, with no where left to hide,
"Quick, leave for greener pastures!", was the call.
Turkeys from all over, all left for the U.K.,
Thanksgiving Day's not celebrated there.
No Thanksgiving turkey? it all will be okay,
there's other tasty food that we can share.
We'll still all be so thankful, on Thanksgiving day,
the turkeys are the most thankful of all.
Living large in Britain, and happily they'll stay,
a turkey exodus comes every Fall.
