My husband told his friend we'd go
with him out on his boat.
I said sea sickness would occur
but he did not take note.
We sailed out in search of shark,
in their own habitat.
But nearly there, I blurted out,
"Just where's your bathroom at?"
Atop the waves that gleam and shine
where guts and beauty clash,
my vomit spewed into the sea
with chunks that plunk and splash.
A shark swam up to eat my barf.
where all my puke then float.
It gobbled up the wine soaked lunch
I just heaved from my throat.
The harpoon gun snapped sharp and loud
and fired the massive dart.
It thrashed clear through the great white's gills
and popped it's beating heart.
My husband's friend said, "Next time, Mike,
to make the trip complete,
please take your wife to somewhere nice...
with all that she can eat."
