The stars begin to congregate
As night is drawing near.
The darkness does not frighten them.
They have no need to fear.
They do not feel inferior,
Though they're called lesser lights.
They fill the space God made for them
To brighten darkened nights.
When God created all the stars,
He named them one by one,
And then declared He, "It is good,"
Like everything He'd done.
While some He set in families,
Yet others stand alone.
The reason for them all to shine
By every star is known.
They glimmer with the happy news
That God is over all.
He never falters, never fails
To hear us when we call.
They glow to tell us, "Trust in Him.
His promises are true,
And all that's written in His Word,
That He will surely do."
Their brilliance holds the constant hope
Of His return one day
To carry us to heaven's home,
Where we'll forever stay.
