A Cowboy's Lament by Boogienights
Write The Lyrics To A Country Song Contest Winner

Verse One...

My old dog just died, he choked on a bone,
my wife's done left me, now I'm all alone.
I'm all out of liquor, I'm all out of pride,
I've got agoraphobia so I just stay inside.

Chorus...

Why oh why is this happening to me,
I'm not a bad cowboy so how can this be?
I guess my luck ran out, it's easy to see,
still, I bought tickets to the next lottery.

Verse Two...

I've always been true, I'm a hell of a guy,
give the shirt off my back to you and never ask why.
My horse got the rickets, can't ride her no more,
I can't help but wonder what else fate has in store.

Chorus...

Why oh why is this happening to me,
I'm not a bad cowboy so how can this be?
I guess my luck ran out, it's easy to see,
still, I bought tickets to the next lottery.

Verse Three...

My truck just broke down, my mortgage is due,
just how I will pay it I have no clue.
A mean old bull threw me, now I have a scar,
still, being a cowboy is the best life by far.

Chorus...

Why oh why is this happening to me,
I'm not a bad cowboy so how can this be?
I guess my luck ran out, it's easy to see,
still, I bought tickets to the next lottery.
