Beauty Defined by Willie P. Smith

Some things we should keep in mind
The wonders God gave us, beauty defined.
The fall of the water from way up high,
Spray from the water as it passes by.
The rise of the sun from a mountain top.
Dew from a flower, ready to drop.
Wind up high in the trees,
Playing music through the leaves in the breeze.
The sun falling gracefully into the sea,
A beautiful sight that always pleases me.
Hummingbirds not moving in flight,
Always makes a magical sight.
An American eagle with wings outspread,
Brown on the bottom, white at the head.
Waters of the ocean rushing to the shore,
The smell of the rain in a downpour.
The difference of each snowflake as they fall,
Sad sound of the whippoorwill's mating call.
What beautiful sounds and sight,
Whether awake in the day, or asleep at night.
