Lie Detectors by HarryT
Morals, Values or Principles Poem writing prompt entry

Being lied to is an unpleasant occurrence
Check the following signals for assurance:

Avoiding eye contact by a head-turning speaker
Stuttering, pausing, throat clearing a clue-leaker
Shifting voice tone and volume, a shady nuance
Multiple excuses instead of just one response
A defensive stance, arms crossed over the chest
Be careful and question a talker’s shrill behest
Lying to a loved one may cause a relationship wreck
Indicators of untruth may be a reddening face or neck

The truth is lying is a probable way to lose a friend
Bringing a long-held friendship to an unfortunate end

Author Notes
I have focused on lying for my poem about morality. All but the hardened liar have some anxiety when telling a lie. One can look for clues when in doubt. The poem above endeavor to provide information about certain body language that may provide clues when an untruth is being told.
