Writing Prompt |
write a 5-7-5 poem in 575 format about autumn ~ the word "autumn" must be one of the words in the poem. |
Author Notes
*NOTE: The treed camellias in large teracotta planters in our courtyard inspired this 5-7-5 poem. Their scientific name is Camellia sasanqua 'Marie Kirk' but their common name is Autumn Moon Camellia due to the fact that their large snowy flowers which bloom in the fall are said, when seen at night, to resemble bright celestial orbs. The sasanqua varieties of Camellia are native to the evergreen, coastal forests of southern Japan.
