Trying to write a short story today,
my story's characters just don't seem right.
My plot lines seem to have too many holes,
I think I'll be up writing this all night.
A short story contest I'd like to try,
to win one, that would cause me such delight.
But it's not shaping up well I'll admit,
I think I'll be up writing this all night.
I lack imagination, sad but true,
can't think of something different, that's my plight.
There's really nothing new under the sun,
I think I'll be up writing this all night.
Discarded stories that are lacking heart,
the floor around me looks just like a fright.
From crumpled paper, filled with bad ideas,
I think I'll be up writing this all night.
I envy those who write stories with ease,
with plotlines that make sense, thrill, and excite.
The writers on FanStory do inspire,
don't care if I'm up writing this all night!
