The hope of the believer is a certain one, and despite grief there is peace.
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (John 14: 1-3).
So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power.... And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man. (1 Corinthians 15:42, 43, 49)
We do not become angels which are a different created being.
