The days are short, though time is fast,
that surely slides down slipp'ry slopes.
The hours weave musty, misty scenes.
Where would I be without all hope,
be lost at sea on billowed waves?
The days are short, though time is fast.
I've lived a life with hills and dales,
on shifting sand, tsunami dreams,
that surely slides down slipp'ry slopes.
Its epitaph the Earth doth write,
and through time's maze on hope's demise,
the hours weave musty, misty scenes.

Author Notes
If you think the days seem seem to be speeding up, in fact scripture confirms it, as Matthew 24:22 & Mark 13:20 confirm.
Cascade
A poem created by Udit Bastia. Has lines that cascade something like a waterfall. There is no rhyme scheme. The layout is simple. The first line of the first stanza becomes the last line of the second stanza, the second line of the first becomes the third line of the third, and the third ine of the first becomes the last line of the fourth. The structure of the poem is thus:- a/b/c d/e/A f/g/B h/i/C
Matthew 24:22
If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will ne shortened. NIV
