Rondel Poetry writing prompt entry

Soulmates from the very start
they roamed the windy moors day 'n night
two untamed souls like birds in flight
until one night, foolish words overheard, broke the lad's heart.

He fled only to return three years later to pierce her heart with a dart
Kathy had wed wealthy Edgar so he married his sister just out of spite.
Soulmates from the very start
they roamed the windy moors day 'n night.

His evil plan was a cruel work of art
and many lives it sadly would blight.

Her death consumed him in time and his mind slowly fell apart
Soulmate from the very start.
