A true day of victory
Armistice Day by John Cranford
Armistice Day poem writing prompt entry

This is the day I think about
As it rolls around each year.
It's important to me to take time out
To honor those we hold dear.

There was a war to end all war
At least that's what we thought.
We knew what we were fighting for
And peace through blood was bought.

We learned that peace is a fragile thing
And wars again arise.
We lift our prayers on angel's wing
As they drift beyond the skies.

There is a day true peace will reign
The Prince of Peace will come.
No more death and no more pain
And the final victory won.
