Exceptional Father ... A question for you ... by Wendy G Dear God, writing prompt entry

Dear Father, I trust that your plans are perfect and that you always know best, because that is Who You are – but I have always wondered about this … I just want you to confirm for me that I am right in thinking that animals have a special place in heaven. It is not directly stated in Your Word. I am not talking about the "Rainbow Bridge", a human idea, but about your eternal kingdom. You created animals initially, and I know that they differ from us in their awareness of spiritual things – but I think they still have some sort of spiritual awareness. They also have the gift of giving and receiving love which has to come from you. Many animals in nature, even in the wild, care for and protect each other, even sometimes from different species. In some ways they seem to reflect your love more than we humans do! There are verses which mention that "the lion will lie down with the lamb" and I feel that this means that there will be peace and harmony within nature in your kingdom. All their needs will be provided for. I have read of so many animals, particularly dogs, which have laid down their lives to protect their loved humans, and that is their ultimate sacrifice, unselfish and loving. Their actions reflect what Your Son did for us. I have loved your animals, and have seen your loyalty and unconditional love reflected in their love towards me. I will always try to care for any which You entrust to me, and I will try to help those who are vulnerable or mistreated. Because you care about them! I remember that You notice if even a sparrow falls to the ground! You love your creation. Thank you Lord for listening and reading. I know you understand. I know too that You will answer my question one day, but that I may need to wait and see. Sending You all my love. We'll talk again soon.
