The arrival of a new baby, particularly the first, can bring enormous changes, including emotions of elation and joy, anxiety and depression, and being unprepared despite one's best efforts.
Due to the ever-changing needs of a new-born ( and maternal hormones!), everything is uncertain, like the weather.
My eldest daughter and her husband have just had their first baby, a son. They are "older" parents, with no experience of babies. We are a long way away, and restrictions for regional travel mean we cannot visit as yet.
