A little boy while on his way
To visit his sick grandma one day.
Heart aching with his fears,
Thinking of grandma, holding back tears.
He'd be all alone if she died,
Then a stranger appeared by his side.
My grandma is sick and old,
She is going to die, I am told
The stranger said with a smile
Take my hand lets talk awhile.
I wish the Lord would talk to me.
Say what you will, son, for I am he.
She's going to Heaven, they all say.
I wish you would let her stay.
The Lord spoke with love and grace.
My son, Heaven is a wonderful place.
The sun always shines, it never gets cold.
It's a beautiful place for the sick and old.
She won't be sick, nor feel any pain.
She will be well and young again.
Then, my son, one day or night,
You'll see her again when the time is right.
They continued walking without saying a word.
Then once again, the Lord's voice was heard.
Your grandma will stay a little longer,
At least until you're a bit stronger.
Then as quickly as the Lord appeared,
He released the boy's hand and disappeared.
No one knows when he might appear,
But know this, he's always near.
The little boy knew, on that day,
The Lord wouldn't take grandma away.
When he saw grandma, he was happy to say,
Hello grandma, you look beautiful today.
