We wed in nineteen forty seven.
Life became an earthly Heaven.
The war was over, our lives were free,
true love ran deep, for you and me.
In forty nine our first son was born,
early on a Saturday morn.
The peace and happiness shared that day,
still lngers on, will always stay.
The years passed slowly, more kids arrived
and with God's grace they all survived.
Love, joy and peace was what we shared,
to show the world how much we cared.
Alas, death was looming, made it's call,
we were against life's final wall.
My bride for life died in eighty two.
Poetry helps me to get through.
