Confidence in God by Anne Johnston
I have so many favourite scriptures that it is hard to choose one. So, I am going to comment on two of them, that speak of the confidence we can have in God.|
l. Philippians 1:6 - Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
I am thankful that when I was just a child, I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. I was baptized in His Name, and He filled me with His Holy Spirit. Though I failed Him many times, He has never failed me.
He has been there for me all through the years, guiding me and leading me. He was with my husband and I through the years as we raised three children. God saw fit to take him home twenty-one years ago, but He gave me the strength and comfort that I needed at that very difficult time.
2. I John 3:21-23 - Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
I have proved this verse over and over. He is always there listening for my prayers and meets my every need. He knows what is best for me, and so I can trust Him to answer according to His will.
Today, I am an unfinished project. God is still working on me, molding me, shaping me after His will. I have confidence that He is in complete control, and that my life is in His hands. I look forward to the day when I will go to spend eternity in His presence. Until then, I will worship and praise Him for all He has done.
