Yes,
the years have flown by
like
telephone poles along the highway.
But
not before filing away
in my memory
those special moments in my life.
There are some sad memories,
even seemingly unbearable ones,
stored and secured
where they are hard to find.
But the joyous days
far outweigh the sad.
Time has taken away some things,
but it also has given so much –
children
grandchildren
good friends,
pets.
As long as my mind
can bring forth the essence of my life,
safely stowed to be remembered,
I will be happy.
