How could I have known, when we first met,
My future would be so great.
Many years of love and happiness
began with that very first date.
We grew together and never parted
Like the roots of a very large tree.
As our love continued to grow,
We knew we were meant to be.
From that love came four great children,
But our lives were far from complete.
Love and family continued to grow
Because we had a chance to meet.
We grew old together, my love passed away,
Separation became our fate.
God gave us that love and years together,
It all started with that very first date.
