The blush of youth upon her face,
Upon the dias took her place.
Her poise was indisputable,
This debutante so beautiful.
Presented to the waiting crowd,
Her partner waiting, standing proud.
He then reached out to take her hand,
The music played their waltz began.
Step forward, back, and then they turned,
They waltzed to show what they had learned.
And as she danced she smiled at me,
My sweet grandaughter; Amali.
I thought my heart would burst with pride,
This lovely girl, no longer child.
So grown up now, so confident
And on this night so elegant.
