Fecal matter.
They hatch and then
They grow fatter.
Now they're larvae,
Legless and white,
Lovely maggots
For a few nights.
Metamorphose
Into pupae.

Still on poopy?
At last! their wings!
Now they will soar
For just about
Thirty days more.
