A wonderful mom
My Mom by Willie P. Smith
Thoughts on mom. writing prompt entry

On the back porch standing,
Mom's voice was quite demanding.
Come and get it, she would shout,
Time for dinner, or I'll throw it out.

Her sweet round face had a glow,
She wasn't as hard as she would show.
Mother and doctor to us all,
She would always answer our call.

Her scolding was much worse than a spanking,
They lasted longer I am thinking.
Through it all, she gave us love.
She was a precious gift from above.

Sweet, kind and full of grace,
No one could ever take her place.
Now that I'm facing my final curtain,
I'll see her again that's for certain.

I love you mom.

Writing Prompt
With Mother's day coming up next month, please write a poem about a thought or memory of your mother. Any kind of poetry will do.

Author Notes
Not a good picture, but the best I could do. I couldn't have asked for more love than she gave.
