Rhyming Short Line Poem writing prompt entry
Artwork by Linda Bickston at FanArtReview.com

Wild wild west
martyr'd quest,
under siege, yet
where's the rage?
Spent bullets lie
we cry deny
worn prayers fly.

Hard to ignore
this any more.

Cherished lives lost
unbearable cost,
murder en masse
smashed hourglass.

Shifting sand with
cold dead hands.
