Australia day I'll celebrate
A 'BBQ' I'll have with mates.
Cook sausages and some lamb chops,
I'll buy them from my butcher shop.
With salads, spuds, and beer I'll serve
Drink Aussie wine, and not French Verve.
We'll sit around and chew the fat,
Discussing lots of this and that.
Our Aussie flag will be up high
And toast it for the reasons why,
We love our country; it's our home
There's no where else I'd rather roam.
So multicultral is this place
Together, we all share this space.
And on this day shall proudly say,
To all 'Happy Australia day'.
Also, upon this special date
Each year is mine to celebrate.
For me, my nursing days begun
Today, my years clock 'fifty one'.
Although these years have gone so fast
My nursing knowledge now is vast.
Yes, I'm still working in health care
My nursing uniform still wear.
But now raise up your wine or beers,
Give Aussies everywhere three cheers.
With one voice say 'Hip Hip Horray'
Let's all enjoy Australia day.
