When God took a stroll through His Garden,
He saw a sweet bloom all alone.
She grew in the farthest back corner
where by wind her first seed had been thrown.
She knew at one time and remembered
a name to her had been assigned.
But time spent alone had erased it,
and no answer came to her mind.
When God stooped to ask what her name was,
the wee little blossom’s head hung
as she whispered to God, “I forgot,”
then in sorrow she held back her tongue.
So, He bent a little bit lower,
and smiled on the tiny blue face,
and said, “Never worry, My sweet one,
you are certainly not in disgrace.
I like how you answered so honest,”
and named her there on the spot.
“So now, you will always remember,
from today, you’ll be Forget-Me-Not.”
