The Forty Niner by Lance S. Loria
Epitaph writing prompt entry

Here lieth, the forty niner,
A life long miner.
Found gold with a yell,
Heart stopped and he fell.
Dying with a smile,
Nuggets in a pile.

Writing Prompt
Write an Epitaph (maximum 6 lines)- funny or serious- it's up to you. Begin with the classic phrase:' Here lieth.....'

Author Notes
A miner during the gold rush years could spend a lifetime looking for gold. Due to the risk of claim jumpers, the miners would be secretive and not even give their name to others. In this case when the miner died suddenly there was no name for the tombstone.

Other than "Here lieth" the required start, each of the six lines has 5 syllables.
The rhyme structure is aa, bb, cc, dd, ee, and ff.
