When a pandemic spread across the world,
and Covid became part of our life's plan,
the fear and despair we felt eclipsed joy,
as the Death toll mounted across the land.
Many were lost, overwhelmed by sorrow.
Our scars will remain, memories won't abate.
Though a vaccine is near, we still harbor doubts,
we mask up, there's no sense temping fate.
Who knew this past year, such an ill wind would blow.
All of our lives, we had to rearrange,
social distancing would become the norm.
So foreign to us, and as equally strange.
Now we are entering a brand new year,
with hope that sanity and peace will reign.
And if luck is with us, and God's good grace,
we'll all be able to move past the pain.
A new day is dawning, hope remains high,
we may be down, but we'll never be out.
We'll come through this much stronger then before,
life always goes on, of that there's no doubt.
